Charlottesville Virginia Digs Out From A Record Two Feet Of Snow
Today Charlottesville Virginia slowly digs out from a record two feet of snow! For an area that normally get 6-8 inches of snow for an entire winter, 24 inches at one time is an unheard of occurance.  The snow began falling at about 5:00 Friday evening and by 11:00 pm there was 11 inches of snow in my yard.  And it continued to snow all night...and it continued to snow all of the next day...until when it finally stopped there was 24 inches of snow on the ground.

Central Virginia has been in a very wet weather pattern all year.  If it continues throughout the winter, this snowfall may just be a preview of what is to come.  The week ahead is forecast to be cold so this snow should stick ... more
