On "staying busy"... Brass Tacks!
Today, Teresa Boardman was featured in Inman News for her perspective on being "busy" and that it doesn't really get to the meat... Whenever we talk with other agents, they say they are busy. AND THAT MAY BE TRUE. But that doesn't get to the real question of whether they are experiencing success in productivity. For example, I am busy right now! Writing this blog! It isn't obtaining any additional contacts for the day. It isn't putting into negotiating a possible transaction!
The "meat" of the question, "are you busy?" really means working your business. How many people did you talk to? Did you fool yourself and just have casual conversations that didn't include any mention of the fact you are in business? Were there opportunities you passed-up to have office chat? Did you spend all day cleaning the office? Does that happen multiple times per week? You get my point here.
Our team instills real, concrete measurements of busy. We write down all business (client or future client) contacts for everyday with a standard reached by the end of the week. We have a conversion expectation of those contacts that can be reasonably obtained and we are accountable to eachother. ... more
