As many of you know, I'm in the home inspection game.  One of the perks of my job is getting to meet and in many cases, befriend many of my clients. 
Today I was blessed with another opportunity to inspect a beautiful home in Georgetown, Texas.  It just so happened that today my client's children and our children attend the same school, Community Montessori School.  So, I knew (of) H.L. and Mindy Fahnestock but never really got to know them. Had I known more about them I would have know that they are in the business of repurposing old wine barrels. 

Most residents in the Austin, Texas area know that the Texas Hill Country just west of the city is home to many small wineries.  From those wineries, H.L. and his crew reclaim barrels and turn them into beautiful pieces of furniture.
One of their specialties is wine barrels gone green - as in eco-friendy green!  They take these barrels and turn them into rainwater collection systems.  The beauty of the white oak barrels is that they naturally water tight.  This makes them well suited for the their new life ... more
