Just getting into the business?
I was walking the halls the other day and overheard someone saying something along the lines of "God, I'm glad I'm not a new agent during THIS market."  My stomach rolled!  I couldn't believe that anyone would assume two things: one, that it would ever be an easy time to start a business that totally relied on your expertise on something that you clearly had never done before, and two, that they saw the market as what controlled their destiny instead of their actions!
I started in the business in 2004 and was able to make money on any open house.  It was a great time, but nothing has changed.  People who started in the business with me then didn't last but a few month to a year because they didn't apply themselves, and I've seen so many currently do the same...BUT those who WORK stay.  I have recently recruited a fire cracker.  She is working diligently on her list of contacts to begin her drip mail campaign, she comes to work, sits down and works, and already knows to avoid the hall chatter boxes.  How many of us that have been in the business and are experiencing success can say ... more
