SUGAR HILL
 
Sugar Hill is New Hampshire’s youngest town, incorporated in 1962.  The name comes from the groves of Sugar Maples in the hills.  With panoramic views of both the White Mountains including the Presidential, Franconia and Kinsman ranges and Green Mountains the area became a fashionable Victorian resort destination.  The first resort based ski school in the US was opened there is 1929 by Kate Peckett and Sig Buchmayer, both important in the history of skiing.  Today is still has a number of fine restaurants, inns, original estates and incredible views.
