Broker Agent Magazine -- Scam or Good Marketing?
I'm tempted to say scam. I was notified by Broker Agent Magazine tonight that I was referred to them and nominated as an agent of the month. I've always thought this publication was something that agents bought, so I immediately asked what was expected of me, financially. The reply was they wanted to meet with me next week to discuss reprints.
So, I asked upfront about the cost of reprints.
This is what I was told:
Four page    $3495 for 1000 reprints on 80lb text plus you can buy additional reprints at a cost of $450 per thousand.
 
Six page     (tri fold)   $4995 for 1000 reprints on 80lb text and additional reprints are $450 per thousand
 
Eight page    $5995 for 1000 reprints on 80lb text and additional reprints are $450 per thousand.
If I handed out four-page reprints per year to 50 clients, it would take me 20 years to hand out 1,000.
Now, I might pay $3.00 per reprint on a lesser quantity, but something tells me that Broker Agent Magazine is going to select another "respected" nominee when I offer this negotiation.
