Oh what I'd have given this morning for the peace and quiet of my coffee and paper in my Moon Valley home in Phoenix.  My morning got off to a noisy start with a knock at the front door at 07:00 a.m. today.  I knew that the roofers were going to be here this week because of what I saw on my driveway Saturday morning.
I really wasn't expecting them so early today.  So, they got started.  Had to move 'frost covered' vehicles so they could put their trailer on the driveway.  Within half an hour the crew had tarps laid out around the house, and by then the sun was up.  Nice brisk morning here in Phoenix today.
Then it started.  "What is that noise" my wife asked.  What are they rolling across the roof?  Well, I have to tell you, that with four guys walking around on your roof, takiing shovels and pitch forks, pulling up old shingles is not the normal morning sounds.
Now, several hours later we are hearing this thump, thump, thump.  They're nailing down felt, hammering in new shingles, attaching drip edging and dropping bundles on the roof.  And this may ... more
