SEO Consultant Publishes Article That Says, Google Sucks All the Way to the Bank!

I have mentioned Jill Whalen of HighRankings.com before.  I have subscribed to her newsletter for quite awhile now...but this morning's newsletter really got my attention!
In a nutshell, she is saying that since Google went public back in 2003, that their algorithms have been somewhat self-serving...providing not necessarily the highest quality results...thus forcing searchers to click on those paid links to find what they are actually seeking.  Really?  That really would suck...but that's the way business is done...I was just really hoping that Google was "above" the corporate mentality and was still this great employer, great resource for online information, etc...that we had come to know, rely on and maybe even love a little.
I don't think resorting to spammy practices is the answer, people have tried that in the past and it got their sites completely blackballed by Google results altogether...but by studying what does seem to be working for the top ranking sites and doing that...within reason...and within your conscious / ethic limitations...I think we can still benefit by optimizing for Google...even this new public version...who does seem to be sucking just a little ... more
