"Wakulla Home Sales Report" for Jan-Feb 2011
We are off and running in 2011 here in Wakulla County and home sales don't appear to be much better than last year at this time. There are many hopes that sales will increase and we will see home values stabilize here in 2011. Hopefully as the weather gets warmer and we move into spring we will see more buyers in the area looking to take advantage of the deals Wakulla County has to offer.
At this point "The Wakulla Home Sales Report" shows us much of the same from 2010. The statistics given here include all single family homes, mobile homes, town homes, and auction homes as well. Through Jan-Feb. there have been 45 home sales in Wakulla County. In 2010 there were 46 sales at this time. One sale difference....not a big deal. It was slow last year, and so far it is slow this year. The statistic that really tells a story is the dollar volume of sales Jan-Feb. 2010 was $7,453,050 and in 2011 it is $6,310,477. That's a drop of 15.33%. The average price of a home sale dropped from $162,023 to $140,233. That's a drop of 13.45%. All this tell us is that the over supply of homes ... more
