It's happened to most of us. The facebook scam. The item never received. Either you've been the victim by clicking on something you thought one of your friends left on your wall or you set the traps for others without realizing you gave your info to the wrong app. I came across an interesting article today that gave some good tip offs for what seems innocent but is probably a scam. I'll summarize for you:
-The first rule of thumb: If the offer seems overly generous, it probably is. If they want to give you a $500 or $1000 gift card for referring your friends or filling in your info- don't do it. This is when the saying "there is no such thing as a free lunch" comes in to play.
-watch out for "phisherman." These are people trying to get your important numbers and passwords. If someone pretends to be your bank saying you need to change your password, try calling your bank first to make sure. Those phishers are sneaky and know their way around the internet!
-Fakers. These are people who sell you products that don't actually exist or imitations. For example, fake tickets to a show or you ... more
