Drive Electric Comes to Franklin TN
Drive Electric Tour came to Nissan North America Headquarters in Franklin, TN on March 26 and 27th. As temperature dipped below normal, interest heated up as participants signed in to take a look at the all electric Leaf. The Drive Electric Tour also included an informational tour where all could take a look at the technology that makes the Leaf run. We all got to take a look at the battery pack, and the charging stations. The average cost of installing the home charging station is about $2,500 with a 30% tax incentive to off set the cost. Leaf owners will also have the option of using a Quick Charge Station (the additional outlet on the vehicle is a $700 upgrade) which allows the vehicle to be charged from 0 to 80% in 25 minutes. Here in Tennessee Quick Charge stations will be available at Cracker Barrel, Pilot Truck Stops and select BP stations. Unlike production model Leaf vehicles, the demo vehicles we drove did not have the speakers on the vehicle to simulate engine noise when the vehicle idles or operating under 18 miles per hour. Come take a test drive on the all electric Nissan Leaf.
