Sometimes a person who really deserves more doesn't get the recognition because they are just overlooked. Showmanship can make a huge difference. Hill says, "...develop showmanship and watch how much easier it is to climb the ladder of success". "There is a distinct difference between true showmanship and less honest ways of attracting attention to yourself", cautions Hill. Boastfulness and apple polishing are seen as negative and extremes can sometimes backfire. Hill says, "True showmanship is creative. It has, as the name implies, a certain entertainment value.
