Death of a Discount Broker
As you may have heard Foxtons has gone out of business. Well they blame there recent closing on the slow housing market. Well I think its because of there listing fee. They only co-op for a max. 2% Who is going to show there listings when you can make 2-3% from most other listings. I know for one that most agents in my office wouldn't show there listings if they didn't have too. Don't get me wrong they had a great idea when they came into the business, but they did'nt realize that none would sell their homes. There other downfall was they didn't do anything for the consumer. I guess the saying is true you get what you pay for. They good news for me is I'm busy trying to take over these listings. The bad news the consumers were never informed!! Now the company is trying to say they are working somethings out. Sure. They just want to take these listings with them to there next office. Don't be fooled they will hurt you again. It a shame to trash there company, but every homeowner compares our listing price to them. However when we come back to take over ... more
