Bagdad Cafe - I am Calling you
I just watched Bagdad Cafe, a movie made the same year I moved to San Francisco. I know it was a famous, well known movie, but I've never seen it, until tonight. It's a German movie about a German woman, who while on vacation with her husband in the Mojave desert, breaks up with him and walks the highway to the nearest truck stop / motel.
The truck stop's owner breaks up with her husband, and after a fiery beginning the owner, Brenda, and the German, Jasmin become fast friends. Jasmin's husband left a magic set in the suitcase Jasmin took, and somehow, Jasmin transforms herself , the Bagdad Cafe and everyone there.
The title song, I am Calling You, is very haunting, I can't get it out of my head.   
I am calling youA hot dry wind blows right through meThe baby's crying and I can't sleepBut we both know a change is comingcoming closer, sweet release
