We Have to Pay to get the Fish Nibbling at our Own Bait?- How did this happen?
This is definitely worht a reblog. I wonder why you have to write at least 25 words to be able to reblog a comment. This much be at least 25 words now so let's see if it works. ;)
I have only been in real estate for about 10 years.  Our local Multiple Listing Service here in Massachusetts, in that time has been privately held.  My question to the real estate community is....  How have we allowed a company like Trulia or any number of "lead generation" companies take our listings and sell leads back to us?  I am not just picking on Trulia there are 100's of phone calls I get a month from companies wanting to sell me leads.  Trulia was just the last company that called.
I just finished a phone call with Trulia.  They want a lot of money to actually have my name prominently displayed next to my listings!!  If I don't there is a good chance that some other agents name will show up next to my listing.   I constanly get barraged with phone calls from companies who tap into our MLS then want to sell leads back to me.   As an industry how did we ... more
