Your Insurance May not Cover a Dead Tree Falling on Your Home!!!
The US Drought Maps have 2 states that are over 80% above D3 Level Extreme Drought and that is Georgia and Texas.  The Drought Levels Range from D0 which is exceptionally Dry to D4 which is exceptional Drought.  Both Georgia and Texas stick out as the most impacted states for drought as of 9/20/2011.  Here is the United States Drought Map and it is real evident when you look at the shaded areas where the drought conditions reside.
What does this mean going into the fall season?  We all need to be extremely vigilant of trees that are dying or dead near our homes and make the effort to have them removed before they do damage to our homes.  I am seeing a lot of dead trees in the area as I am out selling real estate.  Remember if the tree is dead and falls on your house your insurance may not pay for the damage since you were negligent in removing the dead tree and allowed for the risk of it falling. 
So make certain that you hire licensed bonded contractors to remove any dead trees before the fall and winter to avoid damage to your home.  The picture of ... more
