Taking Short Sale Listings – Advice From the Bee Hive
Okay, let’s face it, sellers who are doing a short sale are typically a little emotional and they can actually be a little hysterical.  But there are lessons that can be learned and learned quickly if you pay attention (or you read this article)!1. Get everyone on the title on the same page before you spend even 10 minutes discussing his or her situation.  In other words, ASK if everyone is agreeing to do the short sale and get that in writing.  If they are not PASS.2. Ask them to prove their hardship before you start doing the work on their listing.3. Monitor their listing closely by calling all agents that show the property for feedback.  Often times, they will give you the best clue as to whether the seller is participating in the sale or perhaps just looking for an extension to their free rent from the lender.4. When you sense that the person that you are talking to is blaming everyone under the sun for the predicament except themselves, RUN.5.
