What should you expect from a home inspection? This is a huge question because most people do not buy homes frequently enough to know what to expect.
The home inspection industry in Washington State has changed quite a bit in recent years.
The State of Washington passed a home inspector licensing law in June 2008 requiring that all home inspectors be licensed. These licensing requirements were instituted to protect the consumer. Unfortunately licensing can only do so much. There will always be those that carry the license but really are not protecting the consumer.

If you looked for a home inspector as if it was an HDTV you would most likely find one of the better inspectors.

Shop for a home inspector as you would for a HDTV, do your due diligence.
Cost is always important but anyone who has seen a budget HDTV next to a quality one can tell you they can see the difference. This is the same for home inspectors.
