My Holiday Season is Far From Being Over.
First of all I would like to say the I am happy that this year I didn't see Christmas trees that got thrown away the day after Christmas. Since the New Year is the most important Holiday for me It was really sad to see those threes laying around and I just don't understand why people cant wait until the New Year.
My family is from Russia and we have our own celebrating scheduled. When I came to this country 13 years ago we celebrated only New Year and I was really lucky to grab a New Year Tree on Christmas Day otherwise I would have not got one (the owner of the shop thought I was odd ;-).  I kept my tree until the Old New Year and my neighbors thought that I am crazy when they saw my tree on the curb in the middle of January. For this reason we switched to the artificial tree  which is quite beautiful. A couple years later we realized that kids are under the influence of a Christmas Holiday season and waiting for Santa to come, plus we loved the spirit and happiness so we decided to celebrate Christmas. Than we thought that since part of our family had Jewish roots why ... more
