I just received a phone call, it's 8:45 on Sunday morning, to go notarize a bank loan application for someone.  I explained to them that I will be glad to do it but their bank might not take it.  In Florida, as well as many other states, it is still illegal to sign a legal document on a Sunday.  The odds of it coming back to haunt you are about 1,000,000 to 1 but I still felt obligated to inform the person who is paying me for my services.  This man became very upset, yelled at me for about 5 minutes then slammed down the phone before telling me that if I don't want to work on Sunday all I have to do is say so.  I was merely trying to save him potential trouble in the future.  In many states Sunday is not a legal business day. ... more
