Fans of “The Hunger Games” can test their mettle in the same arena where many of the "game" scenes from the movie were filmed - right here in Brevard, NC. The brainchild of locals Leigh Trapp and Tammy Hopkins, The Hunger Games Fan Tours is a fan-based adventure experience that lets you explore the DuPont State Recreational Forest in Brevard, Transylvania County, North Carolina, in order to find locations used in the movie. You will use survival skills like orienteering, camouflage and shelter building. Weekend adventurers will team with Earthshine Mountain Lodge to make the experience as hands-on and immersive as possible all the while keeping safe around waterfalls. Survival classes during the weekend tours include archery, sling shot training, fire building along with the orienteering, camo-face painting and shelter sessions offered during the day sessions. Once you master these, you will be set loose on your Hunger Games simulation consisting of times trials for the skills. You will also night zipline just like Katniss and Rue, the main characters of the movie. Day tours and weekend adventure tours welcome family groups.
