Discovering Dreams
At a Toastmasters meeting today, a fellow REALTOR told of one of his proudest achievements in Real Estate. A woman called him about a property he had listed for sale, thinking it was a rental. Instead of just telling her that the property was for sale, not for rent, and ending the phone call, he talked with her and listened to her situation. The conversation concluded with him getting her in contact with a loan officer, who in turn pre-approved her for a loan. Here she thought her only option was to rent, but he opened up the possibility for so much more.
 
She was delighted when the REALTOR helped her secure that first home, and in so doing, he allowed her awaken and accomplish a dream within herself. To his further delight, about four years later, she and her boyfriend-turned-husband called him to sell their home and use the equity to purchase a larger home.

Since the day I started in this business, I've felt the greatest sense of accomplishment when my skills help someone else accomplish their dreams. But who knew that REALTORS could even be the awakeners of dreams?
