Lomo-ish - What the Heck is That? Confusing Photo Editing Terms
I love to play with different photo editing tricks when I have a spare moment or three, and today I was using Picasa (my favorite) - I have the latest PhotoShop but it takes a lot more than a moment or three to just open it up and it’s so fussy about how I do stuff. So if I’m just playing to kill time then it’s Picasa or iPiccy or PicMonkey.I’ve tried all the various editing choices and never thought about why they were called what they are called. Today, I wanted to check out Lomo-ish; and this is what I found out.Lomo is a type of camera - Russian-made Lomo LC-A to be precise. Built in the early 90's, it was cheap and not a good camera-the pictures came out with dark edges. For some strange reason a Lomo cult developed-and continues today. You can choose a Lomo-ish effect in most photo editing programs. Where did I learn all this knowledge?
