I liked this post from Barb Szabo so much I had to re-blog it.  Her photos show what a difference landscaping can make in a property's appearance.  The landscaping should complement the house, just as a hair style should complement one's face.  Enjoy!

I show a lot of homes throughout the year and I can honestly say that the first thing I notice is that famous "curb appeal" or lack thereof! I can also say that most of the time when a home is well kept on the outside it is well kept on the inside.  One of the worst offenders to curb appeal is overgrown landscaping. I don't mean a few bushes that need to be trimmed. I mean you can barely see the house! And the funny thing about pictures is that they really tell the truth, much like seeing myself in a swimsuit!
 
I don't think a recent client of mine will mind if I show her before and after pictures.

They have only had this home for about 4 weeks and what a difference!!
