Went out to dinner in Raleigh last night and let me tell you something, Old Raleigh is a buzz with activity. Fayetteville Street, once a pedestrian only has once again been opened to traffic and restaurants and stores are popping up all along there. It’s a beautiful street with the Capitol building at one end and the concert hall at the other.Recently it was announced that Citrix Systems would be locating their Raleigh headquarters in the middle of what is known as the warehouse district, an area of old red brick warehouses, railroad tracks and most recently new apartment buildings and restaurants. Citrix plans to recruit 340 employees in Raleigh.Another huge boost for Raleigh was Red Hat’s decision to relocate to the former Progress Energy high rise building and move almost 1000 workers to all 19 floors.
