Those Bears in Your Backyard are not like Yogi.....Be Careful
 
 
For most of us, we hear the stories about the bears and the cubs coming down from the hillsides or forest. Recently, on TV we are hearing more about bears walking through the backyards and knocking the trash cans over and causing a lot of damage and destruction. Plus all the small pets are at risk of being hurt or worse.
 

 
Keep your trash cans put up and covered with locking lids. Most of the bears are looking for food as it has been very dry and there is a shortage. Keep your doors closed as a thin screen door will not keep a huge bear out and lately they have been trying to get into homes.
 
One bear in LA County, now named Meatballs, went inside a home and got meatballs out of the refrigerator and was seen leaving the house carrying the bag and eating them. The homeowner had come home and saw him in her house so luckily she did not go inside. The Sheriff's Dept. and Animal Control tranquilized the bear and tagged him for any future incidents.
