A Home Inspection Tidbit
First let me remind you that I am a Real Estate Broker not a Home Inspector -- big difference.  This week I had a little bit of a different twist on a mountain cabin in Colorado that buyers have under contract. 
 

We discovered that the electricity was turned off which brought up the need to bring an electrician out to review the electrical in the cabin. When I called the local electric company to have the service turned back on, we found out that the service had been off for a couple of years.  Because the electric service had been off for more than a year there were some necessary steps now needed to be done.  
 

The good news here is that time is on our side and we are not in a 1 day crunch to get everything done.  Taking the time to go through all the processes gives us the ability to full assess the property & the current condition.
The county building department needed to go out and reset the electric meter.  Once done the electric company automatically gets an email and they can now turn service back on.
