Water Conservation Update for Moore County, NC
In an updated news release, the Moore County Department of Public Works says that t Stage 2 (moderate mandatory conservation) of the Moore County Water Conservation Ordinance will be implemented as of April 1, 2008.
Although water conservation remains mandatory for the communities of: West End, Pinewild, Love Grove, McClendon Hills, Pinehurst and Seven Lakes, Stage 2 represents and easing of conservation requirements since October 1, 2007 Stage 3 calls on customers to reduce water consumption by 50%. Under Stage 2 regulations, reduction goals are 30%.
Stage 2 allows irrigation between the hours of 5:00 PM and 12:00 PM twice daily, prohibits car washing at home and allows for introduction of water to the extent necessary to replenish losses due to evaporation and spillage of swimming pools.
