1st Quarter 2008 Sales Results for Greene & Christian County MO
The 1st quarter sales results of 2008 are in for Greene and Christian counties.  They reveal a decrease of 18% and 27% respectively in the number of units sold.
This is a bit of a surprise to me, as my personal activity levels have been good and other agents that I have talked to are busy as well.  There seems to be quite a few people looking and calling for information so I remain hopeful that will translate into better numbers in the 2nd quarter.   The quality of listings appears to still be strong with some wonderful homes chock full of amenities getting multiple offers.   This is still a great time to sell and purchase as any decline in the sales price from a year ago would likely be offset from the gains of the previous years.  If you are planning to sell, don't get caught up in the "buyer's market" mode as you will still realize a nice gain on your sale.  And, you will be purchasing more house that you might have 2-4 years ago.  You can't have it both ways (wouldn't that be nice!) so be comfortable in knowing  you will be providing for your family needs and increasing ... more
