"I'm Gonna Fire My REALTOR!"
Why, you may ask, are you going to fire your REALTOR?  "We looked and looked for a house because, you know, we are picky.  We finally found one, put in an offer, and didn't get it.  We just know it was our REALTOR's fault for not trying hard enough to get us that house!"
 
Whoa!  Hold it! Stop!  Wait a minute!  What do you think your REALTOR could have done differently?
 
Were you looking in the price range you wanted to be, or were you looking above it?  Did your REALTOR advise you on a fair market value offer after looking at comparable sold properties in the last six months as well as current competition property prices?  If so, did you take that advice?  Did you make an offer significantly below list price AND ask for seller assistance with closing costs?  Did you think you could offer less because that is what you saw on all those real estate shows you watch, so it must be true in your market too?  
 
How long have you been working with this REALTOR?   Exactly how many properties have you viewed?  How many phone calls have you made?  How many meetings have you attended?  Is this ... more
