Go Visit Colonel Sanders This November
Colonel Sanders is the famous founder of KFC, Kentucky Fried Chicken, and he's one of Louisville's most prominent residents. Visit his grave this fall at the Cave Hill National Cemetery, and see one of Louisville's more unique attractions. This is one of the city's prettiest places, and it's really not at all scary.
A Day at Cave Hill
The Cave Hill national cemetery is a beautiful and sprawling place full of landscaping and monuments, and the Colonel Sanders grave is one of the best. He's one of Kentucky's most colorful characters, and still one of the most recognizable Americans in history. Colonel Sanders is still seen on TV today, played by famous comedians who attempt to copy his iconic look and smooth Kentucky drawl.
His grave has a bust that shows the man himself, sculpted by his daughter Margaret. You'll find his final resting place if you enter Cave Hill at Grinstead Drive and turn right. Follow the yellow line, and it will take you right to it. You can find Cave Hill at 701 Baxter Avenue, right next to the Cherokee Triangle community.
