The 70's Slide has got to go!
My family and I recently relocated to the Houston area; and the home we purchased was nothing like what we set out to purchase.  It was neither my husband's nor my style, BUT...it had everything that the entire family wanted,  including resort style outdoor living and a great pool.... with a 1970's slide!!
My sons were super excited to spend the end of Summer sliding down the side into the deep end of the pool, so once we moved in, they got it all cleaned up and somehow managed to attach the garden hose to the side in place of the hoses that were not properly working.  They slid down that slide any way you could imagine, and at times I would have to tell them to "slow down or to be careful."
So we were surprised when our local agent informed us that our homeowners insurance rate is probably double what it should be, simply because of the 70's slide.  He stated that it was a safety hazard and that most carriers rates increase substantially when a pool slide is involved, because of the
risk.
