Abbotsford international Airport was started by Royal Canadian Air Force in 1940 by purchasing land and building a runway 5100 ft long and 200 wide.
 
 
 
It becomes jet airport in 1997 when WestJet took its first flight on 18 June.
With the city of Abbotsford growth, Abbotsford airport grows and become an international airport in 2008 by getting approval for international air cargo transshipment program.
From Abbotsford airport, you can fly non-stop flights to all over Canada plus connecting flights to various parts of us and Mexico.
 
Recently Gonewleaf.ca a travel company provided tickets for ground transportation at an ultra low price to surrey central at their designated newleaf bus top. This service is convenient to passengers from Surrey, Vancouver and around to travel from Abbotsford airport rather than busy Vancouver airport.
Parking here is affordable if you want to park and fly from Abbotsford. Airport parking rates are $2 for the first hour and $1 for each subsequent hour up to 3 hours. $9/day, $54/week and $216/month /28 days, compared to skyrocketing price at Vancouver airport. The another advantage is there is not much traffic coming to Abbotsford, etc.
