You May Go Broke to Be StrongI met with a friend for coffee this morning who is going through some rough times. Despite his colorful resume, he is without a job, savings account almost gone, going through a divorce, one closing for the past nine months and have no money to keep going.I listened..showed compassion..listened some more while thinking of the right words to motivate him. It’s not easy to lift someone up when they’re in that dark place. Last thing they want to hear is how Steve Jobs or Walt Disney but I went there. When I first started working for Walt Disney World, I was in a class at Disney University where there are pictures and quotes by this great man all over. One that stuck with me was “If you can dream it, you can do it”. I truly believe that. Most of us know the story of Walt Disney, he had a dream that he never gave up on and went broke more than once but he achieved his goals by not giving up and believing in his dreams and abilities.Are we any different than Walt Disney, Steve Jobs, Martha Stewart?
