Christmas Will Be More Expensive this Year than Last Year
The 12 Days of Christmas Have Been Hit By Inflation
For that true love to impress his lady this year, he will have to dig deeper into his pockets in order to keep the shine on that lady's eyes.  If he's lazy about his shopping and shops online it will even more expensive.
Inflation has been inconsistent on it's impact to the gifts, with an average increase of only $233  or .7%. The total cost is now $34,363 up from $34,131.
 
The gifts summarize as follows:

 3 French Hens
 4 Calling Birds
 5 Gold Rings
 6 Geese-a-laying
 7 Swans a-Swimming

12 Drummers Drumming
The largest increases have been in the lords, ladies, drummers, and maids, and pipers, as their labor costs would have risen.  Not surprisingly as they probably negotiated with binding arbitration, which seldom favors the management side.
If the thought is to buy online, buying the same gifts online is $44,603 this year, up 2.2 percent from $43,627 last year.
