2016 Souto Family Christmas Get Together

 
This past Saturday was our 2016 Souto Family Christmas Get Together.  Every year my brother's, sister's and my family get together for one big Christmas Party at the home all of us grew up in, and now is home to my youngest sister and her husband.  It is always a special time, especially to see the excitement in all the kids faces as they play together, and anxiously wait to open up presents from their Aunts and Uncles. 
This year was a little different because most of the kids were involved in other activities and could not be there.  However, the food was excellent as always, and it is one of the few times of the year I get to have Portuguese food.  Anything left over gets taken back home with me, so I do my best to chase everyone away from the food table, but no one listens to me.
We play a fairly common game with the presents, where we pick numbers and then pick presents in the order of the number we have selected.  When your number is called you can either choose from one of the remaining unopened presents, or steal a present from someone ... more
