Baby It's Cold Outside...It Needs to be MORE Humid INSIDE !
 It's that time of year when the wind in the "not always sunshine states" bites the nose and burns the toes ....the snow crunches under foot....and the furnace gets a workout to keep homes at a comfortable indoor temperature.
   One of the things that also happens during colder months is that the air is dry.  You may feel it your sinuses, your skin is drier ...even the wood in your home...be it furniture or structure "knows" that there is less humidity in the house.
     Remedy....A humidifier !  We do not recommend the humidifers that attach to the furnace for several reasons. One important one is that the humidifier at that location can rust the interior parts of your furnace and you can find that the heat exvchanger and other parts have rusted beyond repair and if there is significant damage, a new furnace is in order. 
      We recommend that you get a hygrometer...fancy name for the instrument that measures humidity.  The recommended level for humidity in a house is between 40 and 60 percent.  You can get hygrometers that are functional and quite inexpensive or more decorative and more expensive,  whatever you choose.
