Have you checked your website stats lately?
You should be checking your website traffic periodically.  Lately, I've been checking mine every day as I wrote 2 articles that I'm hoping will do very well. So far, so good on these.
 
Sometimes we need to go into a bit more detail especially to check on things.
 
I always check my general traffic this time of year, because my traffic always drops from a few days before Thanksgiving until after Christmas.  Generally a few days after New Years, the traffic returns (and thankfully each year, it's been higher than the previous October (knock on wood).
 
So because the larger trend was positive, I didn't go into the details.  Dumb.
 
By accident, through my top 10 and then I stumbled on post #10 How to Stain and Refinish hardwood floors gray.  Ugh.  Why was it #12.  Why did it only have 2,400 clicks in the last 30 days?  (Previously it had been over 4,000 clicks on a regular month).  And, it had consistently been above 3,000 clicks per month for the last 3 years.  Uh oh.
 
So, I clicked on that article in Google analytics.  Ugh.  It went down on the 23rd and more on 24th...just like all my other posts.  But, it didn't bounce back ... more
