New Park Plans Approved for Queen Creek AZ
he Queen Creek Community will soon be enjoying a new park and neighborhood space.
The Queen Creek Town Council recently approved the conceptual design for a new park and play area, with a designated location on the West Park site at 196th Street and Appleby Road. This will be located near the intersection of Ocotillo and Sossaman Roads.
The park will encompass 30-acres, helping the town fill the need for additional recreational space in the community. The conceptual design shows plans for a splash pad, wheel park, play and picnic areas, walking trail, lake, restrooms, concessions, lighted multi-purpose field for soccer or football and lighted baseball and softball fields.
The approval means the town is one step closer to having a new park for it’s citizens. In the past decade, a number of new homes and neighborhoods have been built in Queen Creek, making this park a much-needed new facility for the town. Improvements to the park will be funded by impact fees that new homes have accrued over the years, designated specifically for parks.
