Greenville SC named #5 of top 10 places to live affordably during economic downturn...
According to a November 12th article written by Helen Coster for Forbes.com, Greenville County South Carolina was named No.5 on the top 10 spots to live affordably during an economic downturn.
This was based on Affordability, Property taxes, and Job growth. Greenville's affordability was 150.23, Population of 428,243, median property tax of $984, job growth of .9%, and a per capita income of $23,926 (based on 2006 inflation adjusted dollars).
In recent months there has been several companies that have or plan to relocate to the Greenville area. Some of those companies include: American Titanium Works, a Chicago based company which will invest $422 million to open a new facility in Laurens county South Carolina where it will prepare raw materials, manufacture, and test titanium products. This company will employ about 320 people in its Laurens county facility, and about 40 people in its applications development and engineering technical center that will be located in Greenville County South Carolina at the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR) campus.
