UNC-Charlotte - Light Rail Is Coming! Announcing Exciting News For The University Area Of Charlotte NC The Blue Line Extension project has been approved!! Construction of the 1.16 billion dollar project is scheduled to begin in 2013 with a completion date of 2017. The Blue Line Extension (Northeast Corridor) will become an extension of the successful LYNX (Charlotte region's first light rail service) 9.4 miles from 9th street to NoDa through the University-Area and ending at the UNC-Charlotte campus.This will be a great alternative to the never ending traffic (2 comments)
