home buying: Real Estate Jargon: Decoded (Part One) - 02/15/12 02:47 PM
Real estate can be a tricky thing. If you’ve ever heard agents, developers or anyone in the business talk about real estate, you can quickly observe that we’ve got essentially our own language that isn’t always easy to follow along with. When every clause has a name, every type of loan and deed is different and every spelling change means something different, it’s easy to get lost in the middle of a sentence. With plenty of houses up for sale, and a real estate environment that can only be considered a “buyer’s market,” you are in the perfect position to get exactly what you want out of a new living space. However, having realistic goals for your new abode is important. No (7 comments)
home buying: Property Lines: How to Keep from Stepping Over the Line - 08/09/11 02:39 PM
Be sure you know where your fence, and your neighbors' fence, belong! Say you buy a puppy and decide you need a fence to keep yourself from being forced out into the rain with Spot when he needs a midnight bathroom break. Or, say this incredible summer heat is getting simply too unbearable to deal with unless you have a beautiful new in-ground pool to lounge in. Both of these things are realistic situations that could possibly get you into heaps of trouble, and you’d never even know before it was too late. How? Because you don’t know where your property lines (2 comments)
