I know he probably won't make a big deal out of it but I had to say Congratulations to Kent Simpson on reaching the 200,000 point mark here in the Rain!
 
 

 
Kent has been a major mentor to me in my beginning steps in real estate.  I've watched and learned so much - more than I could sitting in a classroom.  He's responsible for me finding out about Active Rain and I can't thank him enough for that!

I'm a self proclaimed weather geek.  Mother Nature is an incredible force and, as we've seen over the past few days, her wrath is unstoppable.
Here in the Rain, we've made some wonderful friendships with fellow realtors down south.  As I sat and watched the reports yesterday, I couldn't help but think of my AR friend in Birmingham, Charita.  I was praying and hoping all was well with her.  Thankfully, she's fine.

I follow a lot of people and organizations on Twitter from real estate and social media experts to local restaurants and PR firms.  I even follow a few celebrities - I love the Bronx Zoo Cobra.  Sue me.

Yesterday, Ken Cook posted this: "For you is social media becoming more productive or intrusive into your day?"  I replied "More productive.  I learn more in 15 min on Twitter than I could surfing around."  His response got my wheels turning: "aha.  So you include learning in your social media safari definition of success - nice."
