TOUR GUIDE OR REALTOR?? - 06/23/08 11:47 AM
There are days when I feel the public just doesn't understand what we do or why we do it.  From the people who just want to tour Open Houses to the ones that can't grasp the concept of a Buyer's Representation Agreement.
Of course we love nothing more than to spend hours showing people through listing after listing to have them decide they're just not ready or worse, go back to their brother-in-law or Auntie to prepare an offer for them.   NOT!  If I never hear the words "we want to sleep on it" again, I'll die a happy woman!  … (21 comments)

TOP DISTRACTIONS FOR REALTORS - 06/23/08 10:34 AM
TOP DISTRACTIONS FOR REALTORS
A recent study of Realtors confirms these as the top distractions from our business of being lead generation and production:
1.  Talking on Cell = 13% of the day
2.  Email = 24% of the day (includes forwarding all those funny jokes)
3.  Internet = 12% of the day (YouTube clips especially!)
4.  Office Chit Chat = 14% of the day
5.  Miscellaneous Errands = 37% of the day (which is actually not bad considering we're in business for ourselves to allow us to do those errands when others can not!)
I especially found … (25 comments)

RECREATIONAL PROPERTY MARKET UPDATE - 06/13/08 03:12 PM
Balance returns to recreational property markets across Canada this year, says RE/MAX
Mississauga, ON (June 10, 2008) - After an extended period of extraordinary growth, more balanced market conditions have emerged in recreational property markets across the country, according to a report released today by RE/MAX.
The RE/MAX Recreational Property Report found that a substantial increase in the supply of recreational properties listed for sale, combined with fewer buyers overall, characterized most recreational markets this year. Of the 45 markets surveyed, 91 per cent (or 41 markets) were in the transition stage, moving from strong sellers into balanced market conditions. The … (0 comments)

BODY PARTS GO MISSING - 06/11/08 10:00 AM
GANANOQUE, ONTARIO:  Organ Thieves
"You've heard about people who have been abducted and had their kidneys removed by black-market organ thieves.  Well.... My thighs were stolen from me during the night a few years ago. I went to sleep and woke up with someone else's thighs. It was just that quick. The replacements had the texture of cooked oatmeal. Whose thighs were these and what happened to mine?

DO YOU SHARE YOUR DOG'S TRAITS? - 06/10/08 11:23 AM
What kind of a dog you have tells more about you then you know.  From pure breeds to the best loved mutts, each dog will have a personality or habit that it shares with the owner.  (Some dog owners even share their dogs look - you've seen them on Letterman)
I have 2 Australian Shepherds and if we believe the above, what this says about me is that I am:
Easy going, a perpetual puppy that loves to play. Courageous, loyal and affectionate.  Excellent children's companion and great with active children.  A devoted friend and guardian,  naturally protective.  Very lively, agile … (18 comments)

ED MCMAHAN'S HOME IN FORECLOSURE! - 06/05/08 08:43 PM
My goodness . . .  Ed McMahan of Johnny Carson fame has his home in foreclosure with a $4.8 million mortgage with $644,000 in arrears!
From CNN -
LOS ANGELES, California (CNN) -- The foreclosure problems sweeping the United States apparently have ensnared Ed McMahon, who is best known as Johnny Carson's sidekick on "The Tonight Show."

The Wall Street Journal reported Tuesday that McMahon was $644,000 in arrears on a $4.8 million loan for a home in Beverly Hills, California.
McMahon's spokesman, Howard Bragman, confirmed to CNN late Tuesday that McMahon is in discussions with his lender and hopes … (13 comments)

Yard Sale for the Cure Update - 06/05/08 04:06 PM
Gananoque, ON.
With a May 31st like no other I've seen, we managed to raise $1500 for Breast Cancer Research.  Our thanks to the community who, throughout a monsoon-like day, continually showed their support for us and our cause.
Our thanks also goes towards the many merchants who donated their services or products to help us out.
We'll be back next year, bigger and better but hopefully not wetter!

You're most like the 3 people you spend the most time with ! - 06/02/08 05:36 PM
Is that a scary thought ?  We're most like the 3 people we spend the most time with.   Who would be your three people?  Are they positive thinkers or gloomy doomsayers?  Are you motivated or drained when you're around them?
Do they constantly talk about the state of the market or are they too busy working to give it a second thought?
Whose 3 are you in and what would they say about you?
