How to Winterize your Pets ... Holiday Tips for Pet Owners - 11/30/09 05:48 PM
Joan has written this fabulous piece that I had to share with you - enjoy! Via Joan Whitebook, ABR,e-Pro,CEBA Southern New Hampshire (Buyer's Option Realty Services): The holidays can be a stressful time for both humans and their pets. Get your pet ready for the holidays and for winter. - Don't use glass ornaments. They may break and cut a your pet's feet and mouth. - No edible ornaments. Your dog or cat may knock the tree over in an attempt to grab them. - Whether your tree is live or ornamental, both kinds of needles are sharp and indigestible. - Keep the

CELEBRATE - IT'S FRIDAY! - 11/27/09 02:58 PM
"Find a reason to celebrate, Susan. Even if there is not necessarily a good reason, celebrate anyway. Celebrate life, celebrate your friends and loved ones, and celebrate the air that you breathe. There is exuberance in the air that is encouraging you to take a good look at life, and be more appreciative for all the things that you have. Give generously of yourself and your resources. What you give out will come back to you several-fold at a time when you need it the most." Well isn't that just what you want to read when you open your email first

What's Being Whispered Behind Your Back? - 11/22/09 04:05 PM
This is a great list for Sellers to pay attention to. Via Kim Dillon (Creative Eye Home Staging): What's Being Whispered Behind Your Back? WORK: Who Needs It?!! When prospective buyers view a property for sale, the two things that they don't want to be reminded of are WORK and POTENTIAL PROBLEMS!!! Remember to be careful of the subconscious messages you are sending to buyers while they are viewing your listing. I have observed all of the following in recent listings. They are sending messages you don't want the buyer to hear! These are attractive floor fans, BUT what the buyers hear whispered in their ear:

40 Somethings - 11/22/09 02:16 PM
You know you're in your 40's when: You keep more food than beer in the fridge. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed. You hear your favorite song on an elevator. You watch the Weather Channel. Your friends marry and divorce instead of hook up and break up. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up." You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won't turn down the music. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes any more.

HOW PUMPKIN PIES ARE MADE - 11/20/09 08:40 AM
HAPPY AMERICAN THANKGIVING! Hopefully this won't put anyone off their favourite pie. I love the idea of celebrating both our Thanksgivings; our Canadian one in October and Yours in November. Gives us good practice for Christmas Dinner. Enjoy this recipe if you've got a craving for pumpkin: A fabulous pumpkin pie is a combination of a crisp flaky crust and smooth, creamy custard. For guaranteed success, quick-chill and prebake the crust at a high temperature before adding the pumpkin custard and baking the pie at a lower temperature. Pastry for 9-inch (23 cm) single-crust pieFilling:2 eggs1-1/2 cups (375 mL)

Liz has shared a great post with us all and I thought it to be important enough to share in our area - enjoy! Via Liz Moras ~Chilliwack Realtor, Chilliwack,Hope,Langley,Abbotsford (Harrison Hot Springs, Cultus Lake): Is It Wrong to Work With More Then One Realtor? Home buyer: " Is it wrong to work with more then one Realtor at the same time? I'm trying to follow proper home-buying etiquette. My friends tell me it's O.k. as long as I keep track of which Realtor showed which property. That way, if you end up purchasing, the correct Realtor is compensated. I've not signed any

8 Myths of Staging to Sell - Busted. - 11/15/09 02:31 PM
Donna in Australia has provided this fabulous list of Myths Busted - From Australia to Canada, they all ring true. Thanks Donna! Via Donna Ross - Home Staging, Sydney, Australia (Great Impressions Real Estate Staging & Consulting - Sydney): Home staging (or property styling as it's commonly known as on the Australian property scene) is really an art, not a science. One of the many things a professional home stager understands is that it's the house that's up for sale, not the home owner's bread baking ability or taste in music. So, from the sublime to the rediculous - here's 8 myths

SOLD IN BROCKVILLE - GOOD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE - 11/13/09 09:22 PM
After 2 years on the market and 6 different offers, 1373 Briarwood Drive in Brockville has SOLD ! That's the good news. The Sellers agreed to a Dec 10th closing date. The Buyers had looked at this home almost 2 years ago but couldn't get their own home sold. When they finally had a solid buyer they approached my Sellers after they had taken down their sign and had decided to not sell until they did some upgrades in the spring. We all sat around the dining room table on Wed evening and worked out an acceptable sale price, etc.

SOLD QUICKLY AT FULL PRICE...DARN IT!!!! - 11/07/09 01:31 PM
When the job is done right, the Sellers take the given advice, the Buyer's present themselves immediately and the deal is done. Everyone moves on with their lives with as little stress and incovenience as possible! Via Paula Swayne Realtor - Land Park, East Sac & Curtis Park Homes Specialist (Windermere Dunnigan Realtors, Sacramento (916) 425-9715): When setting a listing price for a home, accurate information and evaluation of that information is critical. The nuances of the neighborhood, knowledge of the comparable properties, current issues facing homeowners and buyers all come into play when setting a market value of a property.

How Much Is My House Worth? - 11/04/09 02:23 PM
There's some great information here if you're wondering what your house is worth. Via Christine Hynes (American Loan & Mitigation Specialists): How much is My House Worth? Are you wondering "how much is my house worth?" I have two answers for you. First, if you don't really need to move, it is worth whatever you say it is. If you think, "I wouldn't sell this house for less than $300,000," then it is worth that much to you. If you need to sell it, though, what it is worth to you is irrelevant. Market value is the only relevant value once

Another flu floating around :0) - 11/02/09 01:44 PM
My friend went to a dinner party on the weekend, where she and other guests enjoyed copious amounts of alcohol. She awoke Sunday morning not feeling well, with what could be described as flu-like symptoms; headache, nausea, chills, sore eyes, etc. From the results of some initial testing, she has unfortunately tested positive for what experts are now calling "Wine Flu". This debilitating condition is very serious - and it appears this is not an isolated case. Reports are flooding in from all around the country of others diagnosed with Wine Flu. To anyone that starts to exhibit the aforementioned tell-tale signs, experts are recommending a cup
