susanemosellshomescom: DAY 24 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/29/08 09:40 AM
Day 24 of 29 is bright and beautiful.  Crisp and clean -  sorry, I love winter!!   My gift today is one that everyone can participate in.  It will only take a moment and you will feel so much better for it
I'm sure many of you have seen this message and have already responded.  If you haven't  I'm sure many of you would like to brighten the holiday season for the wounded soldiers. Choose a greeting card or create one and send it out to a wounded soldier to enjoy.  (Personally, I've sent a FarSide card that hopefully will not hurt any … (6 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 23 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/28/08 01:03 PM
Here's Day 23 already . . .  looking forward to attending a Christmas concert this evening put on by Dreams in Motion Performing and Fine Arts School , a not-for-profit local organization that promotes artistic endeavours for all ages.  This is a group that I support because of what they bring to the children of this community - the chance to dream big and enjoy themselves.   They survive on donations alone and times are tough in this community with factories closing and the tourist trade not what it once was.  If anyone reading this would care to donate, please click on the … (0 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 22 OF 29 DAYS OF GIVING - 11/27/08 09:25 PM
Day 22 of 29 days of Gifts was a hit.  Another accepted offer - YAY!
I was very clear today on what my 22nd gift was going to be.  I followed the path to accomplishing it, secure in my ability to do so.   And I did.  But tonite, as I sat with my laptop, and was gettting ready to share my story, I turned on the TV.   There was CNN Heros playing before me.     WOW
These people being honoured are incredible.  What they are doing, where they're doing it and how they've managed just leaves me speechless.   Humbled and wishing I could do … (6 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 21 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/26/08 08:32 PM
Did you know Seniors make up a huge percentage of folks who avail themselves of Food Bank donations?    Why I didn't know this, I don't know.  It really never occurred to me.  I always pictured families, and single men.  Wrong I know but that was what was in my head. Well, Day 21 began with fluffy Charlie Brown snowflakes and as the day is ending, we still have snow.   My dogs actually benefited from my first gift of the day now that I am back in the land of living again.  Still not 100% but better.  We were able to … (11 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 20 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/25/08 08:07 PM
DAY 20 is just turning out to be just as exciting and invigourating as DAY 1 !    Yesterday I had the brainstorm of creating a cookbook to accompany the boxes goiing to the food bank.   I love to cook and rarely use a recipe other than for baking which is a science!    I simply wrote down the meals I created for myseslf during my Starving Student days.   A time when a big kettle of soup/stew was always on the stove.  Ingredients would be added to it each day to make it stretch.  Sometimes it fed just me, other days it would feed … (5 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 19 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/25/08 01:53 PM
Day 19 was yesterday and my gift became a 2 part gift possibly 3 parts for today and tomorrow as well.   When I was putting together my donation of tinned and pre-packaged food for the food drive, I was reminded of something my Mother, who worked with the Children's Aid Society,  did many decades ago for young, unwed Mothers who hadn't a notion of how to run a house and feed their child.  Especially on a very minimal budget.   They put together a cookbook to teach basic cooking on a shoestring.  I come from a large family and we all got … (7 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 18 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/23/08 08:55 PM
Day 18 of 29 Days of Gifts was an easy give.
There was a time when food banks were seen as a stopgap measure for individuals and families that had fallen on hard times.  The temporary help provided the bare necessities for those who were between jobs or whose social assistance had yet to come through.
How times have changed.
Today, food banks are a fixture in every Canadian city - and in a growing number of towns.  And rather than an interim solution, they have become a way of life for people who can't afford to put food on the … (6 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: BURNING BUGS - DID YOU OR DIDN'T YOU? - 11/23/08 04:06 PM
I confess . . .  I burnt holes in things with a magnifying glass as a child. Paper, sticks, whatever was lying around.   My brothers burnt bugs and I will never forget that smell as long as I live!  In fooling around with the magnifying glass, I sometimes actually looked at things up close - you know, using it like it was intended to be used.  Looking at a frog's eyeball to see if it had eyelashes.  Trying to count a centipede's feet.  Checking my brother's head to see if he had cooties.    All the important stuff.

Nowadays, I have … (4 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 17 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/23/08 09:05 AM
DAY 17 was a good busy day with lots accomplished both work wise and home wise.  I wasn't too sure about how I was going to manage my 17th gift with so much going on.  I was leaning in an entirely different direction when it hit me.  I had some listing papers to get signed and then I was planning on stopping off at home to throw something in the oven for our dinner guests,  before heading out again.  When I arrived at my client's home I discovered they were unable to re-arrange or stage their home as we had discussed.  … (4 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: Bookworm Meme - 11/21/08 06:58 PM
Thanks to my friend, Linda Jandura  I too have been tagged by the MeMe worm.
Just following the rules, here's the nearest book to me- Nothing Is Impossible by Christopher Reeve.  (I've been going thru my library and things are all out of order!
Here's the topic on page 56, fifth sentence:
"a few months before my fortieth birthday, when I still considered myself to be a relatively young dad.  I started activities with all three at an early age just as my father had done.  Matthew and Al were out on the slopes learning to snowplow by four or five.  Will started … (4 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 16 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - A GOOD READ - 11/21/08 11:34 AM
Day 16 is here and I want to see HUGE numbers reading this post.  I don't need to see huge comments but the number of people reading this will tell it's own tale so tell your connections to get here and READ THIS - it can't hurt but it sure can help!!!I'm giving a gift of prayer to everyone who reads this post today and everyday thereafter.  It is the prayer of St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Teresa of Avila's Prayer.  They are the best free gifts we can receive.  Dig deep into your soul and think about what you want … (2 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 15 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/20/08 06:35 PM
Day 15 of 29 began bright and sunny but cold.  Speaking of cold . . .  mine is hanging on for dear life!   With so many things to do today that can't be put off, I'm hoping the meds will do their stuff.
It was interesting to discover that I now feel quite at peace with what my gift will be today.  It is something I've been putting off for months now.   I had been worrying about how the gift would be received and this morning I realized that that is something out of my control.    I can only examine my … (8 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 14 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/19/08 09:29 PM
Day 14 of 29 still finds me suffering the flu.  I had to travel into the City for a Real Estate course this morning even tho it was the last thing I felt like doing.  While I was in there, I decided to go to a wonderful fruit and veg shop after the course was completed.  They have every type of fruit you can imagine and unbelievable quality too.
I felt badly that I possibly passed on my flu to my Mother so I decided to buy her loads of fresh fruit and fill her full of vitamins!!   While in the … (7 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 12 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/17/08 01:37 PM
DAY 12 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS -  WOW, A DOZEN GIFTS ALREADY!!!  This is quickly becoming a way of life for me.  To be constantly aware of the power I have been given.  The power to make someone smile each and every day.  It is HUGE!
Today, I decided to make a group of, always hungry, Realtors smile . . .  my gift to the others in my office was to fill up a big candy jar at the front desk with Halloween candy.  There were Rockets, bubble gum, chocolate spiders and beetles, extreme sours, sweet tarts etc.

Nothing … (4 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 11 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/16/08 06:12 PM
DAY 11 OF 29 Days of Gifts.  Today I elected to have a quiet, reflective day. It was a dark day with snow flurries so I chose to spend most of the day in front of the fire.  I did alot of reading which I find very therapeutic.  I'm still suffering thru the flu and I'm quite ready to be rid of it!
My gift today is to myself.  I tended to my own needs and treated myself with kid gloves today.  I tend to not do that too often and I felt I was long overdue.  Maybe that was why this flu … (10 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: ARE YOU INSANE? - 11/16/08 11:38 AM
What is the definition of insanity?
Doing the same thing over and over but expecting different results!
If you can grasp this concept than perhaps it is not too late for you.  Help is at hand!
Desire is the first ingredient to change.  Sometimes desire is no more than wishful thinking that something in your life, or the way you conduct yourself, will change.  But that is not enough.  It is up to you to make these things happen.  Dream and dream big!   What do you want to happen in your life, your business, in the next 3 months?  Don't put any … (27 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 10 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTS - 11/15/08 12:41 PM
DAY 10 OF 29 DAYS OF GIFTSarrived on another cold, wet and rainy day with snow fore casted.  I was to attend the "Cookies & Critters" event this morning and wondered just how many people would attend on such a day.
I was pleasantly surprised to discover that a parking space was going to be a tricky thing to discover!   The lot was filled and cars were lined up to get in! !   YIPPEE
When I finally made it to the front door it was soooo nice to see the room filled with oodles of people, all with money to spend.  The … (4 comments)

susanemosellshomescom: DAY 9 OF 29 DAYS OF GIVING - 11/14/08 08:44 PM
Day 9 of 29 days of Gifts is almost over.  I had a very full day of getting my hair done and then off to an afternoon's seminar -  Richard Robbins - very worthwhile.   I kept looking for some spontaneous way of providing a gift during the day but nothing spoke to me.  At Starbucks I wondered if someone could use a Latte?  Nah . . .  Then the  traffic wasn't bad enough to classify letting someone  merge into my lane as a gift ,lol.  Nothing jumped out at me and I continued on to the Bulk Barn to pick up some … (2 comments)
