emsayrecrs: My Lakewood, Colorado garden is full of blooms! - 04/22/12 04:39 PM
My Lakewood, Colorado garden is full of blooms.  I love this time of year because my backyard is full of color and wonderful fragrances.  Lilacs, hyacinths and tulips abound.  Our winter this year in Colorado was especially dry so I worried that my garden might suffer, however, my lilac bush has never been prettier and the tulips are magnificent.

The tulips compliment the lilacs.

And then, there is the one black tulip that was magnificent.

With my new camera and such marvelous subjects, I am enjoying Spring in all its glory.

emsayrecrs: A one hour showing window is a disservice to all parties! - 04/21/12 07:35 AM
A one hour showing window is a disservice to all parties!  The market here in Denver is incredible hot right now with homes going under contract within just days of appearing on the multiple listing service and many before they even are posted....and we are seeing multiple offers again!  Working with buyers who are ready to purchase is a challenge when we are told that we can only have a one hour showing window.  Trying to plan out a day of seeing 12-14 different homes including travel time.....and what if the buyer really likes a home and wants to take a … (1 comments)

emsayrecrs: Sunrise in Moab - 11/09/11 09:29 PM
Earlier this year I attended the Moab Photo Symposeum for the first time. We arrived early so that we could get up and photograph the sunrise.  This was my first trip to Moab and I was overwhelmed by the beauty of my surroundings.   This arch has been photographed thousands and thousands of times, yet capturing it in my own camera made in one of a kind...my very own original. I hope you enjoy these images.  They are "unprocessed" for those of you that are into photography.

A different angle:

emsayrecrs: Adapting recipe sometimes makes for a delightful meal! - 06/22/11 01:57 AM
Sometimes, adapting a recipe can make for a delightful meal. This evening, we took Chef Jamie Oliver's recipe for oven baked salmon with purple brocoli in an anchovie with rosemary sauce and adapted it slightly which produced an incredibly delicious meal.
Who would have thought to combine anchovies with rosemary! Rather than oven bake the salmon (fresh wild salmon), we chose to grill it over a soaked cedar plank. The rosemary came from our garden and our brocoli came from the farmer's market at our local Belmar neighborhood in Lakewood, CO.
The combination of the natural fat from the salmon, the … (3 comments)

emsayrecrs: Attending Moab Photo Symposium has taken my photography to a new level! - 05/23/11 10:41 AM
Attending the Moab Photo Symposium has taken my photography to a new level!
When Realtor Kristal Kraft first told me about the Moab Photo Symposium, I felt a little intimidated. I have been a photographer for many years, 35mm black and white, moved on to a point and shoot digital for work and then recently got a NikonD3000. This camera has reignited my passion for photography even though it is like learning all over again. But with the encouragement of my husband, Kristal and local photographer, Charlie Lehman, I decided to jump in with both feet.
The trip had a rocky … (8 comments)

emsayrecrs: Showings in Denver metro area up in April - 05/03/11 10:07 AM
In the Denver metro area, showings / active listing in April 2011: 10.2, up from 9.3 in March. Bodes well for sales activity over next 60 days. However, inventory is down a lot, so total sales volume will still likely be less than last year.
With showings being up & inventory being down, could mean it might be a good time to sell???

emsayrecrs: Good Repairs make for a feel good almost new Car! - 04/21/11 04:02 PM
Having just spent a lot of money, I have decided that good repairs make for a feel good almost new car. We Realtors, often forget how important our vehicle is to our livelihood.  How many hours do we spend in our cars, whether by ourselves or taking clients around to view homes throughout our neighborhoods?
For me, I live in Lakewood which is just 10 minutes from downtown Denver.  However, due to my real estate career, so much of my business is from referrals and past clients, most of whom live in the foothills west of Denver. I spend many hours … (0 comments)

emsayrecrs: Aaargh! - 04/17/11 01:06 PM
Aaargh! was the word of the day as my husband and I visited the Denver Museum of Nature and Science yesterday to view "The Pirates" exhibit. Photographs were not allowed within the exhibit but I was able to take several photos of the displays outside.

As you wander through the exhibit, you learn the story of the discovery of the Wyndah and all of its treasures. Beautifully presented and complemented by the volunteers who offered stories and more in-depth details.

If you are in the Denver area, make a point to see this wonderful exhibit. The … (2 comments)

emsayrecrs: Welcome Home - 04/17/11 12:44 PM
Welcome home, Mama Robin!  Last year, a robin built a nest in one of our flowering pear trees in our front yard. Sure enough, soon she had two babies peeking their beeks over the edge of the nest. Watching them from afar was truly fun and I was able to photograph them as they developed.

It is mid-April, crocus, tulips and daffodils are making beautiful displays in our gardens. I sure hope Mama Robin will return this year. Her presence in my yard enhanced my life.

emsayrecrs: A Photo is worth a Thousand Words....especially if it is inside your body! - 03/02/11 06:23 PM
The saying, "A photo is worth a thousand words" doesn't begin to cover what you feel when you see an MRI screen of your own body!  I recently had an MRI of my neck as I had been having upper back pain, dizziness and tingling in my right arm....but let me give you a little history:
Nineteen years ago, I had surgery for a herniated disc in C6-C7 of my neck. I was lucky enough to have one of the best surgeons in the country, Dr. Gene Bowles, and the surgery which consisted of implanting a bone chip and a titanium plate … (5 comments)
