fall colors: Fall Colors Fading With Colder Weather in Colorado - 11/01/13 01:48 PM
Fall Colors are fading as colder weather comes to Colorado. Living in Colorado, I have become used to three very short seasons - Spring, Summer and Fall - and a rather long Winter. So, when the trees start to turn to lovely shades of red, orange and gold, I grab my camera to try to capture the gorgeous scenery that my State provides. As an avid photographer, I find myself shooting many sunrises and sunsets as well as off the beaten track country and mountain roads.
fall colors: Three Mile Creek Trail one of the best hikes around - 10/02/11 03:18 PM
Three Mile Creek Trail offers one of the best hikes in the foothills west of Denver. Yesterday, my husband and I, along with our hiker dog Jake, headed up Hwy 285 west of Denver thru Bailey towards Guanella Pass. The weather was warm and inviting and hundreds of others had the same idea of taking in the beautiful golden vistas of the aspens. At Grant, we turned right onto the Guanella Scenic and Historic Byway. fall colors: Fall Colors Paint the Rocky Mountains - 09/24/09 08:30 PM
We are having so much moisture in the foothills (that translates to SNOW) the gorgeous colors of the leaves will quickly disappear. I was able to capture a few shots of some of the vivid orange and gold aspens. They are so striking against a backdrop of green evergreens. Hopefully, you have been able to get up to the hills....one of my favorite drives is Golden Gate Canyon to Hwy 119, also known as the Peak to Peak Highway then north towards Nederland. Lots of color and gorgeous views.
