Oh what a difference a few days can make in Lakewood, CO. I live in a wonderful neighborhood called O'Kane Park which is only a ten minute drive from downtown Denver. Most of the homes were built in the early 1960's....mainly ranch style with full basements.
Across the street from my house is a lovely, well mainained home with a large, old tree that was just awash with color on Saturday.....
Well, last night we got the start of our first winter storm.....that translates to snow! Here is the same home just a few days later:

It is a good seller's market for homes in Lakewood, zip code 80226. The results of the sales for the month of September, 2011 are in and it shows a normal Seller's market for homes in our area. Considering other parts of the country, this is really good news! During the month of September, 20 homes sold in zip code 80226 and there are currently 90 homes on the market (all price ranges). Here in Colorado, especially right now, Green = Gold. We are one of the few states that offer caregive status as well as full-time dispensaries for people who need and have been medically approved for medical marijuana. A lot is happening on the legislative arena to regulate all of this, but in the meantime, patients are getting their dosage, whether through inhaling or ingesting edibles filled with marijuana.
Over the past year, my understanding and acknowledgment has changed....I believe this industry has to be controlled, but I also believe people in pain need to have options....and this is one.

Having just spent a lot of money, I have decided that good repairs make for a feel good almost new car. We Realtors, often forget how important our vehicle is to our livelihood. How many hours do we spend in our cars, whether by ourselves or taking clients around to view homes throughout our neighborhoods?

The saying, "A photo is worth a thousand words" doesn't begin to cover what you feel when you see an MRI screen of your own body! I recently had an MRI of my neck as I had been having upper back pain, dizziness and tingling in my right arm....but let me give you a little history:

The sun is shining in Denver even though the temperature is pretty cold. I want to take the opportunity to wish all of my Active Rain friends a very Happy New Year! Here I am in Colorado where the temperatures are reaching 55 degrees, the snow has melted from my front yard and I am walking around in just a fleece enjoying the sunshine. My sister in Baltimore called to say they had 30+ inches of snow and my son in Virginia was digging out of 26 inches of the white stuff.
We celebrated Christmas yesterday with my business partner, Robin (Royal Kingdom Associates), his wife Stanzi, my son, Josh and his lovely girlfiend, Courtney. My husband, Jim, smoked a 22 lb. turkey which we served with gourmet mac and cheese (to die … (3 comments)

Every Thursday morning, the Jefferson County Association of Realtors hosts a marketing meeting for members and affiliates. Each Realtor is given an opportunity to present their new listings as well as the needs of buyers with whom they are working. Just two weeks ago, my business partner and I (Royal Kingdom Associates) had a successful closing of one of our listings in Lakewood. The buyer was represented by another member of JCAR who had heard about the condo at the marketing meeting.
