va: A Solemn Visit to Arlington National Cemetery - 01/11/12 05:23 PM
Today, I made a very solemn visit to Arlington National Cemetery. Having been raised in Arlington, VA, this sacred place is very dear and near to my heart. I was here when JFK was assassinated, when MLK was shot down and experienced many other life-changing events. Every time I come back to see my family I make a point to re-visit some very special places.  The day was overcast and chilly with the forecast of rain.  Here area few photos I took today:

 
The many wreaths on the gravestones were very touching....so many.....

va: Visiting fox caught us by surprise! - 07/08/11 08:37 PM
This evening, a visiting fox caught us by surprise!  My mother and I were doing a skype call to my soon-to-be 3 year old grandson when out of the corner of my vision, I saw a red streak across the backyard. On second look, I focused in on a very small and thin brownish red fox as he climbed up the stairs to my mother's back patio.
For over 15 minutes he rested, scratched and groomed himself. I grabbed my camera, a Nikon 3000, and shot a few photographs through the back door. Shortly thereafter, he scampered to the neighbor's yard.  … (9 comments)
